| PRE Check |
|
Enable Pre-Check - (ADVANCED VERSION ONLY) This allows you to tell EFS to either run a file or ping a remote host before initiating a check for mail. Run File - (ADVANCED VERSION ONLY) Specify a file such as a dialup script to initiate a connection or perform some other pre-check task. You can choose to run the script or file in a Normal, Minimised or Hidden window. Kick Router (ping) - (ADVANCED VERSION ONLY) This will cause EFS to send an ICMP echo (or ping) to the destination you specify as Host Click the IP button to test that EFS can resolve this name to an IP address. We recommend using your ISP's Pop3 Mail Server here as this will both initiate a connection (depending on your router/proxy) and verify that the ISP's mail server is reachable (although the service may be down) Only Perform Check If Successful - (ADVANCED VERSION ONLY) EFS will only establish a check if the ping is successful. EFS send four ICMP echos. The first 3 are used only to establish a connection, the 4th is used to validate this option. Therefore, the outcome of a successful connection is dependant on a reply from the 4th ping. Delay - (ADVANCED VERSION ONLY) EFS will wait XX (in seconds) between running a file or pinging the host, and connecting to the Pop3 mail server. This basically allows you to specify a "wait" interval before checking for mail. |
