| ERC is "email redirecting
software". It's purpose is to redirect mail from
one or more Pop3 accounts to another single Pop3 account.
There are many different scenarios that you may want to
use ERC. Consider the following: Example
1. You spend most of your day at work in your
office and you want mail from your personal mail account
to be forwarded to your mail account at work. You can
setup ERC on your home computer (or even
your work computer) to pull down mail from your personal
ISP, optionally remove/leave the mail on that server then
redirect any messages to your work account. Therefore,
you only have the requirement to check a single account
for all your work and personal mail.
Example 2. You change to another ISP.
Most of your friends/colleagues will know your personal
email address from your original ISP. You may want to
continue using your original ISP account for another
month or so and have ERC redirect any of
that mail to your new mail account until your friends are
aware of your new address.
Example 3. You are going overseas and want
the ability to check your mail abroad but can not as your ISP
only have local dialin numbers. Why not setup a hotmail account and have ERC forward your mail to it?!
